You've been paying to ship water
Conventional ready-to-use sprays are 98%+ water by weight. One 8oz bottle of our concentrate makes 2 full gallons of ready-to-use spray — same effectiveness, ~$0.23 per treatment vs $0.34 for Raid and $0.87+ for a Pestie subscription.
- Raid's 32oz bottle is 0.05–2% active ingredient. The rest is water you already have.
- One 8oz Nada bottle = 2 full gallons of ready-to-use spray (1:32 dilution).
- Cost per treatment: $0.23 (us) vs $0.34 (Raid) vs $0.87+ (Pestie subscription).
- Less weight to ship, less plastic to landfill — and you stop paying to truck water across the country.
Pick up a bottle of Raid
It weighs about two pounds. A 32-ounce bottle. That weight is mostly water — the active ingredients make up somewhere between 0.05% and 2% of the total formula. The rest is water, solvents, and carrier compounds.
You paid to have that water manufactured in a facility, filled into a plastic bottle, loaded onto a truck, driven to a distribution center, loaded onto another truck, and driven to a store shelf where you picked it up and drove it home.
The water was already at your house.
How this happened
This is the standard model for consumer pest control and cleaning products. It’s been standard for decades. It’s not a conspiracy — it’s just the way the economics of retail shelf products developed before e-commerce made direct shipping viable. Ready-to-use is convenient. Ready-to-use is also mostly water.
What concentrate means in practice
Our 8-ounce bottle of Home Defense weighs about half a pound. It ships in a small bottle. When you get it, you add water from your tap — 32 ounces of it — and you have a full quart of ready-to-use pest control spray. Add 64 ounces and you have half a gallon. Add 128 ounces and you have a full gallon.
One 8-ounce bottle of Nada But Nature makes two full gallons of spray.
One 32-ounce bottle of Raid makes one 32-ounce bottle of Raid.
The price-per-treatment math
| Product | Cost per treatment |
|---|---|
| Nada But Nature (concentrate) | $0.23 |
| Raid (RTU) | $0.34 |
| Pestie (subscription kit) | $0.87+ |
Plant-based doesn’t mean premium-priced. It means we stopped shipping you water and started charging you for the part that actually does something.
There’s also the environmental argument — a concentrate ships at a fraction of the weight and volume of a ready-to-use product, which means less fuel per unit, less plastic per unit, and less packaging in a landfill. We’re not going to lecture you about it. The numbers are just what they are.
You’ve been paying to ship water for years.
We figured you could add your own.
